Jazzyspoon (aka Jason Pottorff) is an electronic musician, producer, sound designer and remixer currently based out of Denver, Colorado, USA. The genres that he works in are as vast as his influences. He is best known for continually experimenting in his studio to find the perfect hybrid of IDM, downtempo, glitch, trip hop, rock, shoegaze, industrial, ambient, electro, dubstep, breaks, jazz, club, and we’ll stop there. Even though he prefers not to be pinned-down in regards to genre, he inevitably proves that the process of personal, artistic exploration can lead to music that just so happens to appeal to the far and wide.

Jazzyspoon’s Study Habits Vol. 1 is an exquisite audio display that fills the ear with dubbed-out chords, off-kilter beats, pure warm ambience, gentle percussion, infectious sampling, occasional glitches, and enveloping melodies. It’s thoughtfully structured– builds are there, so are the breaks, and it gives you space when you need it, taking you from the dreamy to the energetic to the melancholy over the span of the 6-track EP.
